Where were you born? Where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in Oshawa, Ontario.

Schooling? Art training?
I did one of those Joe Kubert School correspondence courses. Does that count?

How long have you been working professionally in comics?
I've been working in comics for about 6 years.

What things -- both in art and otherwise -- have you worked on, besides comics?
I've done some design work.

Are comics a full-time gig for you or part-time?
Sometimes it feels like 2 full time jobs.

Tell us how you broke into the business --was it easy? Hard? Any interesting anecdotes?
It certainly wasn't easy. I started out as a penciler doing some small press stuff. Then, I got a chance to tryout at a Bright Anvil Studios in Toronto. They didn't need another penciler so I told them I could color
too. I had only colored a couple pictures, but they gave me a shot anyways. I was really eager to work, I would take a 2 hour train ride into the city every day. While I was working at the studio I got to color a Buffy mini-series and another book called Outlaw 7.

When you held your first published work in your hands, how did you feel?
It was an amazing feeling, I didn't really believe it at first.

How did you settle on the style(s) you're currently using?
My style is always changing. I try to be as diverse as possible, so there's nothing I can't do.

Did you work as an assistant to any other artists?
I've done color assists for Chris Sotomayer and JD Smith. That was a great experience for me, I learned a lot, and I got to work on a lot of high profile books. Any success I get, I owe it all to "Soto".

How did your parents take to the idea of working in comics?
They've always been really supportive,

Please describe your work space. Is it part of your home,or do you go "to the studio"?
I have a small home office, I work on a suped up Pentium 4 computer with a Wacom Cintiq tablet.

What job are you the proudest of?
I'm most proud of the work I did on the Motu: Rise of the Snakemen mini-series. The cover for issue#2 is probably the best digital painting I've done to date.

What's your most embarrassing?
Voltron #1 without a doubt!

What project are you currently drawing?
I'm currently working on Masters of the Universe volume #3

Tell us about your family and home situation. Are you married with kids? Anecdotes about married life, how it relates to your busy schedule, etc. If you have kids do they understand your job? What do they say about it? Do they read comics?
I'm single.

What projects do you hope to work on in the future?
I'd really like to work on something for Marvel or DC.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
I'd still like be coloring. But, I would also like to be doing more penciling work and painting covers.

Do friends and neighbors know you draw comics for a living? How do they react?
Most people are impressed, even though they don't know much about comic books..

What's 1 thing you'll always find in your refrigerator?
Empty pizza boxes

What's your favorite food?
Pizza.

What are your favorite interests --Movies? Music? TV? Any hobbies? Sports?
I don't see a lot of movies or watch a lot of tv. I try to stay fit and keep active in my spare time. Ya gotta look good.

Have you ever thought of writing your own stories?
I've created a few books that I hope to publish at some point.

What's an average day in your life like?
Get up, work, sleep.

Any humorous or interesting anecdotes to tell about the comics business?
I used to flat pages for a colorist at Hi-Fi, named Val Staples. Who knew, that a few years later I'd be coloring Masters of the universe for the same guy.

Do you have any great, unsold projects in your files that nobody's gotten to see published?
Sure. I've got a ton of great comic ideas.

If you weren't a comic-book artist today, what would you be?
I probably would have become an animator.

Any closing words?
You're going to spell check this, right?
